Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your CGP Indie Studio account and personal data, what gets deleted, and what we are required to keep. CGP Indie Studio is operated by CGP Spotlight Inc., based in Ontario, Canada.

This applies to both the CGP Indie Studio mobile app and the web app at cgpindiestudio.com. They share one account.

If you cannot sign in, email support@cgpspotlight.com from your account address and we will delete it for you.

What Gets Deleted

Once your request is verified, we delete:

Your account and profile, including your name, email address, and profile photo, held by our authentication provider, Clerk.
Productions you own, and everything in them: scripts, scene breakdowns, shooting schedules, call sheets, shot lists, contacts, locations, tasks, notes, moodboards, budgets, and sponsor records.
Messages you sent in team chats and direct conversations.
Your device push notification tokens, which stops all notifications.
Your collaborator access to productions owned by other people. Their productions are not affected.

What We Keep, and Why

Purchase and billing records are retained for a minimum of seven years, as required by Canadian tax and accounting law. These records are kept for legal compliance only and are not used to contact you or for any other purpose.
Support emails you have sent us are retained as a record of your support history.
Routine backups may contain your data for a short period after deletion. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule and are never used to restore deleted accounts.

If You Work With Other People

If you own a production that other people collaborate on, deleting your account deletes that production for everyone on it. If your team still needs the material, export or hand over ownership before you request deletion. We cannot restore a production once it is deleted.

How Long It Takes

Deletion happens immediately when you confirm it on this page. Your subscription is cancelled, your data is removed, and your sign-in stops working straight away.

If you email us instead because you cannot sign in, we action verified requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Cancelling Instead of Deleting

If you only want to stop being billed, you can cancel your subscription and keep your account and your work. Manage your subscription from your account settings on the web. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.
